Cleaning your Diamond Engagement Ring: FAQ's

It’s simple to keep your diamond ring looking sparkling at home with a soft toothbrush, water and dishwashing soap. We’ve put together a handy guide here.

This guide applies to sapphire rings too.

If you have a diamond wedding ring such as an Eternity Band or a Half Halo ring, or a ring with engraving, we recommend following the same guide to keep the diamonds bright. For plain bands, wiping them down with a soft cloth should be sufficient. 

Solid 18ct Gold in any colour will not tarnish, and the same applies for Platinum. All of our engagement and wedding rings are made using these materials and therefore will never tarnish. They are made to last a lifetime. 

Absolutely! We offer a professional cleaning and polishing service for any ring we’ve created, at any point down the line. Please allow 1 month before the ceremony for this service.

Polishing will not weaken the ring. Our craftspeople in Hatton Garden, London are highly skilled and they are able to re-polish engagement and wedding rings without any impact to the stones or settings.

If your ring undergoes some sort of trauma, such as being dropped or hit against a hard surface, it can cause damage to the stone or setting. We recommend bringing your RB ring back to us for inspection. 

Where possible we will assess it in the showroom which takes around 15 minutes, and for further inspection or any repair work we will send it to our London workshops based in Hatton Garden. Repair work will normally take 2-4 weeks and we are able to provide an official quote if needed for any insurance claims.
