Adapting any of our Made-to-Order rings with sapphires is the perfect way to inject colour, meaning and personal style into a ring that will be treasured forever.
Over the last two years we've seen a real increase in couples choosing Sapphires as the central stone in their engagement ring. This is not to say it's a trend - couples are simply making bolder choices, wanting to break tradition and instead choose a ring that is unique to them. Sapphire engagement rings are here to stay, so we've put together a simple guide on how to incorporate this beautiful and varied gemstone into your ring design.
WHERE DO I BEGIN?
If your interest has been piqued by any of our designs online, we would always recommend booking an in-person or digital consultation to discuss your ideas. It’s a really great opportunity to discover the ring styles you or your partner gravitate towards most.
WHAT NEXT?
Deciding on a sapphire colour is also an important part of the initial consultation. From deep blue to bright pink, Sapphires come in an extensive range of colours. Not all colours are available in the full range of cuts, so Rachel, Amani or Alex will give you the full lowdown on what creations are possible during your appointment or following up via email.
CAN I SEE THE SAPPHIRES IN PERSON?
We now have a range of loose Sapphires in stock at our showroom, as well as our Ready-to-Ship Sapphire engagement rings, that give an excellent overview of the colours and cuts available. If there’s one you love you can choose it there and then to use in your ring.
If, after the appointment, you would like us to source a particular Sapphire for you, this will be done via email with comprehensive videos and photos sent of the stone.
WHAT LOOKS BEST?
We think Sapphires look best set as a central stone or as a halo to make the most of their natural colour.
WHERE DO YOUR SAPPHIRES COME FROM?
All over the world! The most common locations are Madagascar, Montana USA and Australia. It can be a really nice touch to source a sapphire from one of these locations specifically if it's a meaningful place to you and your partner.
SO IT'S THAT SIMPLE?
Yes! Sourcing the central stone and approving the CAD drawing will be done via email. We’re always happy to send more details to make sure your decisions are fully informed. The full process of designing and making your own ring takes 3-3.5 months so please allow the full time for this.
