It’s easy to assume that the brilliance of a diamond will make any engagement ring feel light and airy. However, without a carefully considered design the final result can feel clunky and laboured.

DIAMOND CUTS
A ring that feels light and feminine begins with the central stone. Brilliant Cut diamonds work beautifully as they are created with the optimum number of facets for light reflection and sparkle within the stone. Brilliant Cuts come in a variety of shapes, from the classic Round and soft Cushion Cuts, pictured below, to more romantic Pear and Marquise Cuts.
SIDE STONES
Diamond side stones arranged with a light touch are the perfect way to bring delicate shape and sparkle into the band. Pretty arrangements of small Round and Pear Cuts are our favourites for keeping a silhouette airy and playful.
SETTING STYLES
Rounded claws on side stones become their own adornment to the diamonds, which we love. Pairing this with talon claws on the centre stone feels resolutely modern.
ADDING A HALO
If you love the look of a diamond halo but want to keep it delicate rather than graphic, opt for a halo without a solid border like our Styx Ring.
THE BAND
Look to vintage rings for delicate detailing inspo. Our vintage band pictured below takes reference from embellished antique ring bands, and it invites the perfect level of detail into a simple solitaire ring. For a subtle flash of diamonds on the band, our diamond knife edge band is a very pretty addition to any design. Or, if you’re seeking a bolder diamond band that still has a lightness to it, round diamonds spaced out across a thin d-shape band are the perfect balance of modern sparkle.
